On Friday, May 11, 2018, the last NYS DOH approved Cross Connection Renewal Class was held at Ferguson’s facility in Maspeth, New York. We don’t mean the last one for this year, we mean the last one ever. The stated reason is because the Administrator, Maurice Costentino, has announced his retirement from the industry. Maurice has been instructing Initial and Renewal Courses since 2005. The industry offers a special thanks to Frank Finkel who had the tremendous vision to start this program almost thirty years ago. The course averaged 80 new initial candidates per year, for an approximate of 2,400 persons over the past thirty years. Recertification started about thirteen years ago and averaged 125 candidates per year, for an approximate total of 1,625 persons.
