This review program is presented as a review of the New York City Construction Codes and Utility requirements relating to fuel gas work in NYC. Participation in this review program will provide participants with the opportunity to review the specific Codes; rules and regulations for compliance.

Cost: Members $275/student | Nonmembers $475/student (program book included)

Limited to only 20 students.

 

Review program Overview:

This review program is a review of the NYC Construction Codes and Utility requirements with regards to performing fuel gas work in NYC.

  • NYC Fuel Gas Code
  • NYC Plumbing Code
  • NYC Building Code
  • NYC Administrative Code
  • Con Edison Blue Book
  • National Grid Blue Book

Learning Outcomes:

  • Based on a given scenario, determine which Building code(s) is/are required to find answers to code requirements (Fuel gas/Plumbing/Mechanical/Administrative)
  • Explain how to navigate where in the respective Building code books a given code is located
  • Interpret the fuel gas code's meaning accurately based on a given scenario
  • Successfully identify correct building codes as they pertain to the plumbers’ journeymen trade skills

 

Requirement for Course Completion:

Please be advised that there will be a post course assessment. In order to successfully complete the course and receive your certificate of completion, you must attend the entire course and complete/pass the post course assessment at 70% or higher

Who should participate in this review program?

This review program is geared towards tradespersons actively working in the plumbing industry. It is a review of the current NYC Construction Codes and Utility requirements.

  • Persons with little or no prior knowledge will be presented with an overview of the Codes and procedures to perform gas work. They will be encouraged to further review the review program materials to gain a better knowledge and understanding of the Codes.
  • Persons with basic Code knowledge will benefit from a review of the most up to date information available.

Everyone taking this review program will be presented with information that can applied in their daily field work. Licensed master plumbers can benefit by having their employees exposed to this information.

 

Will this review program help me to pass the NYC DOB Gas Work Qualification Exam?

This review program reviews all the Codes, which are the basis for the NYC Gas Work Qualification exam. Persons participating in this review program with the intent of taking the exam, will benefit if they already have a basic knowledge of the NYC Construction Codes. This review program is not intended to be a comprehensive training program. This review program will review the Code and highlight the key points of each section.
