Message from the Executive Board:
We look forward to seeing those who are signed up for tomorrow’s membership meeting. Considering recent circumstances, we understand that many of you may not be comfortable attending any in person event. We respect your decision, but also ask for your consideration. If you are registered and have changed your mind about attending, please call the office immediately, as we have many people on the waitlist and would like to give them the opportunity to attend. All safety protocols will be observed.

Last week we saw one of our members stave off license expiration (with 2 days to spare) and another had his license renewed after 39 days. This was only possible with the help and hard work of our Lobbyist, Arthur Goldstein. If there is ever a question of what our Lobbyist does for us, now you know one of the important services he provides to our association. You may ask, why did it take 39 days for the member to get renewed? It was not for lack of effort! Up to this point, more than 10 members have experiences issues with renewals, and we are sure that there will be more. Please take the time to read the license renewal information featured in this update that was prepared by our Committee.

Also, please read the updated LL 152 section in this update. It is important that members follow all of the guidelines that were taught in our DOT training program. There will be a live virtual License renewal course on October 20, 2020. DOB Licensing Director Hinckley is set to make a presentation. Hopefully, he will offer some tips on successfully renewing your license. We will be sure to bring you any information that he provides.

We are pleased to announce that we will be starting in person training again. Plexiglass barriers have been installed at the training center to ensure the safety of all participants. A list of available courses will be published in a future update.

The DOB Committee is gearing up for the November Sub-Ops Committee Meeting on November 03, 2020. Members are encouraged to send their questions to dob@nycmpc.org
