			    | | Message from the Executive Board: | | | | We continue to receive questions from membership regarding Local Law 152 inspections. In many of our responses we are attaching a copy of the Service Notice for the member to review. If you intend to conduct these inspections, we strongly urge you to become familiar with the Law and Rule as written. After reviewing the information, if you still have a question contact us at LL152@nycmpc.org . A few of the questions we received have stumped the panel and we are working with the NGA to have these questions addressed. We are preparing a FAQ document that will be sent to membership once completed.    As members are starting to conduct these inspections, they are encountering many different issues. What do you do when you find a non-code complaint fitting (ex. possible steam fitting on a gas line)? Well, that is an immediately reportable hazard. What if there are no leaks? What will the response be from the utility and DOB? Will a 100+unit building need to be shut down because of this?   Our Committee is working on a list of responses for AOCs, which will be presented to the DOB at the October Sub-Ops Meeting. An example is discovering a gas flex on a commercial dryer. What can be done to not have to shut down a laundry room, ranch line or, possibly, meter? What can be done to avoid or minimize a violation to the owner?   Do you have any other examples and possible suggestions? We want to hear from you. Please send them to us at LL152@nycmpc.org . | | |
